Carolina Bartumeu (cello) and Míriam Manubens (piano) will take us on a tour through some of the most iconic pieces by Gabriel Fauré, the centenary of whose death we are commemorating this year. The selection will be complemented with pieces by Claude Debussy and Nadia Boulanger, the mentor of the two performers, thus providing a morning of French music in a unique location.

Carolina Bartumeu

Carolina began studying the cello at the age of 7, at the Andorran Institute of Musical Studies. In 2011, she graduated from the Liceu Conservatory and in 2015, she obtained a bachelor’s degree from HKU University of the Arts in Utrecht, where she also won the EMIR Steyerberg Prize. Carolina has taken part in classes with renowned musicians and worked with a variety of national and international orchestras. She has been a member of the ONCA (Andorran National Classical Orchestra) since 2016.

Míriam Manubens

“Míriam began studying the piano in Andorra and was recruited at the age of 18 by the Joventuts Musicals de Catalunya (Catalan Youth Orchestra), with whom she performed a concert at the National Auditorium. She underwent advanced training at the Municipal Conservatory in Barcelona and went on to study two postgraduate programmes in London. Míriam also completed a master’s degree in Performance in Madrid and has performed with a number of renowned musicians. Additionally, she has taken part in numerous concerts and directed two musicals.
